As we come to a close on the year, I'm pleased to say that 2007 has been rather successful for Machine In Use Studios(MIUS). Although the main bulk of our work hasn't been stop-motion, there is a new addition to our short films. With mid November and December open, we took on another challenge from the guys at Stopmoshorts. The key words for their December deadline were Realm, Alley, Swap, and Rose. In addition to the link, I've added a couple of production shots. Two are of puppet construction at it's crudest, revealing the skeleton and urethane heads. Interesting note: all the heads were from the same mold. I took the dremel tool to them to carve in some variations. The other two shots were for the animatic set up, but show a continuation in character progression as well.
