Camp Caliri

I had a fantastic opportunity to take on some high quality work in the last few months. One of which, was the chance to work with Jamie Caliri on a commercial project. Jamie is the genius behind the United Airlines commercial: Dragon and the end title sequence for the movie: Lemony Sniket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Because the commercial is still in production, I can't talk about it, other than to say it is for for United Airlines. Needless to say, I have a lot of paper cuts from all the background work I did. I've also been working with Pete Levin on some e-cards as well. I've taken on the role of fabricator, and he is animator. Throw in a couple of commissions for some paintings, and my cart has been pretty full. So where am I going with this? Well, if you were expecting to see my Pinocchio spot on this upcoming installment of Visual Haikus at Stopmoshorts.com, I'm sorry to say it won't be there. Although, with some upcoming time off, I plan to get back into the studio and start filming.

I think stop animation is great. If I had started out again at college I would have done that instead of history (British Corn Laws in the 19th century: yawn ...). I think - and I am sure many would agree - King Kong, Jason and the Argonauts, Wallace and Grommit (and many, many others) deserve to stand on their own as great film classics. Good luck and enjoy!
