Pretty Ominous title, huh? For those of you who follow the Angry Puppet Blog, you are pretty well aware of Ethan's work on his spec commercial. Since he happened to be working at Buddy System Studios at the same time as me, I took advantage of the opportunity for an interview. I could have edited the footage down, but I thought everything was rather endearing. Seriously though, this was a great opportunity because of who Ethan is, and to see his working process. Soulja Boy Tellem!
Exciting News! I have had the opportunity to work with the guys and gals at Buddy System Studios on a stop-motion music video for the young rapper Soulja Boy. The cool thing is that BET Channel came to the studios and filmed a 'making of' video. I've attached it for your viewing pleasure.
As a bragging point, my role in the whole process was puppet development and fabrication. I started with some drawings by Dr. Steel (another associate of Buddy Systems) by taking them into Illustrator and creating exploded views. ie. separate limbs, heads and such. Then I converted files for laser cutting, and assembled everything with metal, magnet, and Zap. With the help of some great interns, we produced an extreme amount of puppets in a very short time.
