Cogs,
I'm proud to announce that Cog #7, aka Sven, has won the 'Mystery Machine' competition from last week. Congratulations! Looking at the time I posted and the time Sven replied, it took all of seven hours for my challenge to get cracked. I'll have to dig deep for something a little bit harder next time. Fun and games aside, I want to share with you an Emerald Nuts commercial that I helped out on with the guys at Buddy System Studios. This project was really cool because they were using replacement mouths that were designed in Maya and that 'rapid prototyped'. The armatures were brass ball and socket, constructed by Dave Candelaria. My role for this commercial was to do storyboard clean-ups and revisions, foam build-up on the armatures, sculpting the hands and feet for the puppets, and cleaning up the heads/mouth pieces, prepping them and painting. As a little side note, the voices that were originally used were different. The original 'Jean-Luc' voice was a lot more angry with a heavier accent. Personally, I like the original version, but when it's all said and done, it's just nice to see the final product.
Enjoy!
